When.... Oh lord I ask of thee when... When shall we be blessed by an update for our beloved ecchi zombie series.....
Highschool Of The Dead went on a Hiatus for 2 years with reasons as for research purposes. We the fans of Highschool Of The Dead have patiently waited for those long 2 years. Suddenly word came out that there was going to be an update of the manga!
I do not know of your reactions but I myself jumped to the excitement that is a chapter update. I had hopes that from 19 April 2013, which is the date of the chapter update, Shouji Satou would have finally finished his research and continued to make Highschool Of The dead.
Chapter 31.... We were shown the new character which is the father or Rei Miyamoto as well as a glimpse of what the mother of Takashi Komuro would look like. It was looking good, a solid chapter with a decent and understandable cliff hanger. But to my disapointment no other updates have been made from that moment on. I do not know if Shouji Satou has dropped HOTD and i certainly hope not for it would be such a shame to let something as amazing as Highschool Of The Dead to remain unfinished. I as a humble fan can only wait for future updates....

HOTD Zombie Discussion
Throughout the years there have been numerous zombie movies and zombie series, a lot of variations of zombies has developed as well. So far there are the "normal" zombies for example those in movies such as The Walking Dead, Shaun Of The Dead, or Zombie Land where the zombies are just mindless piles of moving flesh, not able to climb or run.
Then there are zombies whose sole purpose of existence is to fuck you up. Such as the sprinting, parkour, and climbing zombies of World War Z. These zombies doesn't make any sense to me, how is it that an average person when bit is able to run for ridiculously high speeds and in large numbers are able to climb a huge wall tens of meters high? If a zombie apocalypse actually happened and these guys would be in it I would just shoot myself.
Lastly of course you have the mutated zombies, popular in the gaming as well as movie industries such as Left 4 Dead and Resident Evil, these zombies were able to mutate into special zombies with inhuman attributes such as tremendous strength, ability to project acid, development of tentacles, etc.
Now the zombies in Highschool Of The Dead, personally I think that it is the best type of zombie. It falls in the category of the normal zombies. slow moving, not a a threat individualy but dangerous in hordes. And just to make it interesting the zombies in HOTD actually have large amounts of strength but ONLY if they manage to grab you and pin you down. All in all I think this adds to the number of reasons why HOTD is awesome.
HOTD Ero-Doujins
Because of the severely ecchi genre of HOTD I'm not surprised if any of you fans decided to search for some HOTD ero-doujins or hentai. But I'm here to say... Don't.... Just.... Don't....
I guarantee you that you would be disappointed. The artwork are nowhere as near as the godlike drawings of Shouji Satou, the plot are shit (zombie rape for god's sake wtf man), and honestly are just a disgrace for the HOTD series.
Now for those of you who can't control their urges I suggest you check out Shouji Satou's official hentai doujin works instead. Though they are not HOTD, you're better off reading the professionally made doujins of Shouji Satou. The difference is just worlds appart. Shouji Satou is known as "Inazuma" or "Digital Accel Works" in the doujin world, search for those pen names to find his doujins.

What would your role be?
During a zombie apocalypse you start to see all kinds of generic characters. Such would be the leader, co-leader, fighter, humane character, team spirit character, annoying bitch yet still alive till now, that guy who just winds up as zombie food, aaaand a lot more.
Now what would your role be? Me personally I think, and I hope, that I'll be the co-leader type of character. I'll be that guy you can rely on yet not the person in charge, of course it is my duty to make decisions if the main leader is having a mental breakdown (which I'm sure any one would eventually experience during a zombie apocalypse).
Also during a zombie apocalypse a lot of people gets to show their true colors, I think this is one of the reasons that HOTD is such an interesting series. It shows that dark and ugly side of the human emotions that is usually hidden from society.
I think it is really interesting to see how people are able to adapt at such a drastic situation like a zombie apocalypse.

Would you want a Zombie Apocalypse?
For me sometimes life gets way too stressful that I just want everything to disappear and be replaced by a zombie apocalypse instead. That way life becomes a lot more simple as it is just about being alive and surviving.
Of course having a team of hot chicks and a dude who's an expert on firearms would be awesome but I don't think that may ever happen even if a zombie apocalypse starts. This is more of a psychological question, most of you even if you are zombie fans would probably be afraid of a zombie apocalypse. I as well think that if it actually happens I would piss my pants hard due to the extreme fright. But I also feel that if I am able to overcome those first moments then I could experience a whole new world where I have never felt more alive....
Besides, you know what they say: deep down we all want a zombie apocalypse....
Most Memorable Moment?
What's your most memorable moment on HOTD? Any scene that latches to that part of the brain where important knowledge is supposed to be stored. Here's my favorite moments on HOTD both on the anime/OVA and on the manga as well.
I can never get tired of that face, it was my desktop wallpaper for quite some time too. As for the shrine scene I think had a really memorable atmosphere as you wait anxiously for Takashi and Saeko to kiss.
Of course one of my favorite scenes is where Takashi, and us viewers too, first met Saeko in a Naked Apron. I can't stress enough how much HOTD has given me a Naked Apron fetish. Also the Takashi rescue scene with the apron and the badassery as well as a really good background music was most certainly epic. The background music btw is called "fuss fuzz" go check it out!
This scene I really like. Maybe it's just because I also wanna be able to sleep with 2 extremely hot chicks. One in a Naked Apron no less....
As for the OVA besides the SaekoxTakashi kiss scene I could never get bored to see Hirano getting high, it's just funny as hell. LOVE AND PEACE BITCHES YEAAAAAA~

Things I would have done....
Okay next consecutive post, damn this is tiring.
I'm sure any of you out there have watched a movie or a series and went all "Damn if that was me I would have totally done *insert plot difference here*" well I am no different from any of you. There were some scenes where I was just dying to change but all I could do was imagine in my head how it could have got down.
First of all during the scenes on the roof of their school if I was Takashi, as a gentlemen, after I (as Takashi) have just brutally murdered the remains of what used to be my crush's boyfriend i would have spent a whole lot of time trying to comfort Rei. I would try to convince her that I would be there to protect her whatever happens. Maybe that would avoid the "why cant you be like Hisashi" scene. BUT that may have been the best option to make the plot progress so no actual complaints there.
Second when Takashi and Saeko was on the sand bar in the river I would have definitely praised Saeko more to earn more doki-doki points lol. After that during Saeko's "I'm actually a sick psychopath" speech I would convince her that it doesn't matter and all those "I wouldn't want you to be different than your are now" or "I trust you, together we can move past this" or something more romantic.... I dunno I'm making these consecutive posts in the middle of the night, can't exactly make good examples.
Finally I wouldn't grab Saeko's boob during her encouragement speech... but I guess that's what the author wanted to make it unique lol.
Well that's most of the scenes I would like to change, that i can think of in the moment, and now on to the next post!
Why You Should Read the Manga
I know a lot of people who enjoy Japanese series only through animes and while there is nothing wrong with that you should also check the manga every now and again.
Especially in HOTD's case, now I was in love with Saeko before the anime even started (hipster alert) and I just think it's a shame for those who only watched the anime and didn't read the manga.
For one thing the manga is much less full of fanservice, don't know if that maybe bad for some of you people lol, but seriously a boob bounce every 2-3 minutes? That's kinda disturbing even for me during the anime. Don't you worry your little heads though because the manga is still ecchi, this is Shouji Satou we're talking about here.
Second the plot is less rushed in the manga, believe it or not i also read HOTD for the plot and I mean the actual story plot. In the manga there are a few difference in scenes like Saeko and Takashi were separated from the group after the escape from Takagi estate. Besides this the conversations between characters are much more detailed and interesting instead of the routine 2 minute boob bounce.
Third regarding the voices of the characters, I personally don't hate the voices in the anime but i think it's much more interesting to imagine what the characters actually sound like. In my imagination Hirano has a deeper and manlier voice for example.
Also in the manga there weren't any crazy shit like the "Saeko Bullet through Cleavage Scene" I mean WTF? Seriously? This just makes the series look pathetic to watch.... But oh well if the producers decided it was okay to put that scene in.....
Last is Saeko in the Naked Apron looks more sexy in the manga to me :3
Now then if you haven't read the manga yet please do so immediately, it is equally and may be more interesting than the anime is.

HOTD OVA Impressions
Second of the consecutive posts,
This time I'm gonna talk about the OVA. While I will certainly love anything HOTD related I have mixed feelings of the OVA. It fulfills its duty as an OVA with a beach setting, bikinis every where, and loads of fan service (as though the anime didn't have enough) but I felt that it was lacking something epic.
The plot itself is really simple and feels like it was lazy writing done by the producers, but hey that's just my opinion and I still liked the OVA. Now here's my impressions:
1. I didn't like the fact that Takashi was useless in the whole OVA, I mean Takashi is awesome! why would you just make him wear a tight ass speedo and not let him do shit.
2.TITS.......
3. Even though I enjoyed the OVA I had expected something like a more detailed background story of each of the HOTD cast, or even make the scene from the extra manga chapter where Takashi talks with his friend (forgot the name) about the hottest girls in their school.
4.Not enough zombies.
5.Saeko kiss! Holyshitohmygodaskjgalsfkgcbalsdhasodasdhgjhdsaajdgasjld...... And even though it was just the weed talking it still counts for us fans :3
6.Quite the interesting twist on the end, salute Takashi for surviving 4 zombies during a wet dream *salute*

Hello once again HOTD fans,
Now at the moment apparently i have to post a total of 15 posts in this blog in order for me to pass my school blog project. So get ready for 13 consecutive posts of HOTD.
We are now here to talk about the HOTD Secret Box, what is this secret box you ask? and what's so secret about it? Well nothing is secret about it, but the secret box is an HOTD collectible item that any fan would surely like to have.
The box itself contains a 72 page Manga Anthology with 7 colored illustrations and random doujins featurng the HOTD cast. Other than the Anthology you get 3 extra items, and these items are what you're really after.
First on the list you'll get one of those otaku ero-pillow case featuring Rei Miyamoto, one side is fairly normal and on the other side BOOM TITS! It is an ero-pillow after all.
Second you'll get a bus pass holder featuring Saya Takagi, but there's a catch. It's a bukkake pass holder, as in there'll be "mysterious" white liquid all over the pass holder. I don't even know why this is necessary but its funny as hell.
Third and my favorite of them all you'll get a Saeko Busujima Oppai Mouse Pad. Enough said.....
